Yesterday(5/29/10) I bought a White VS machine and treadle cabinet, my brother-in-law got it at a yard sale for
$50, the machine has almost no decals left and is missing the front slide plate.
The machine and treadle all move freely, so I think I can make it into a usable machine.

Davis is a great sewing machine you should get it if it is all there and not all deteriorated and missing decals.

I really like the green Singer 15, such a pretty machine!
It makes my black Singer 15-90 look boring in comparision.

They had a few 15-91's that were the green color but they are next to impossible to find.

I got it! I got it! I got it!

I called the lady within minutes of her posting the ad and promised that I will come pick it up tomorrow.

Charlee, let me know if you're in the Albany area sometime - we need to meet.

I sew on vintage machines particularly the Singer 301..it does everything and more. I also repair them. I have some cadaver machines for parts. There is nothing like sewing on vintage, a tactile experience that is missing from today's machines. I love the smell, the sound, and really enjoy taking care of them. I have had people contact me and I have wound up being able to repair other machines as well. The quality is unsurpassed. I bought a 301 at a rummage sale for 1 dollar, covered in grime, motor hummed, but no needle movement. Took it home, cleaned it inside and out cleaned it again and
