Hi ; does anyone on here know about an american sewing machine , I'am getting one given to me havent seen her yet but the girl told me she works but needs cleaned up and in a cabinet. i hope you can help . Dottie Bug i will check back latter

I found a beautiful sewing cabinet at an antique mall for $25. It is solid wood, newer than the vintage I've seen, but my old Singers won't fit. The Hinge space is about an inch too wide. The Singers I have need about 9 1/4 inch space and this is a tad over 10 inches between. Any idea what machine this would fit? I had no idea that machine brands were different in this aspect. I have an old dressmaker I may try and measure. It's too pretty to just sit around my house.
Two sets of hinges, btw, so both sides unfold. 8-10 inches on the right "wing" and regular size on the left.
Any info is greatly appreciated.

I got a surprised today. An old neighbor came by today, she knows I collect sewing machines. she says "I just came by to let you know I have an old Sewing Machine Im giving away if you want it". My eyes popped out, "Oh you bet I want it". All she knows is, it is an old Singer in a cabinet. Can't wait to find out what type Singer it is. I'll post pictures when I get it. :D
