I just saw one advertised for $60 and wondered about it. I know nothing about the vintage machines:).

There is an auction coming up in a week, said to be a salesman's antique small sample sewing machine on it. Anyone have an idea what that might be worth?

Lots of times the phrase "salesman's sample" is used because dealers don't know the right description for an item. A little sewing machine was either a child's, or a real working machine that was small. If you have a picture it would help.

I am just guessing but it looks like a 27 or 28 to me. See if you can get the serial number. Kathie

I just had to keep looking up her skirt to find the offending mess!! :-)
Featherweights are notorious for this--they just DON'T like all that thread wrapped around behind the bobbin area. I have an old FW downstairs; I need to get it out and see if I can remember how to take the whole assembly out. I've done it before, but I have a TERRIBLE memory.
