    My local sewing machine shop
I believe I would be returning it for a refund or a plate that fits.
Whenever I've needed anything she's let me go dig through their bins of spare parts first - this is the 1st part I've actually had to buy... and I dont really want to wait another month to get the right one. I figure the $6 I paid for this is fair enough trade for all the other parts she has given me.
$6 I think I've paid more than double that for one! Stick it up on the for sale on here.

I do not know. I am resisting the temptation to contact the seller and ask them what dream world they live in. That IS the most outrageously priced vintage machine I have seen... I think :?:
If you read the rest of the ad, the seller says that $1600 is not an unheard of price for the machine.

There is a Singer Slant yahoo group that is friendly. The 500 and the 301 both fit in that category. What I like about the Yahoo groups is a chance to look into their files. Lots of good info in there.
