It comes apart very easily for cleaning. I didn't get the attachments, but I think the ones from my FW will work. This green is so much fun!
    She's beautiful!
Your FW attachments will work perfectly.
I have two of these 185's and LOVE them!
I have a 185J that's supposed to arrive on Friday from shopgoodwill.com. I'm hoping that it arrives all in one piece. I can't wait to look up the date and sew on it. Glad to hear it comes apart easily for cleaning.
Did you get it? I saw it on that auction and thought about bidding, but all my $$$ is gone this month1!! LOL I wanna see pics, please!!

Another really cute Green Machine!!! :-) I like those....but I can't go looking for one now...too much other stuff and too many other machines to take care of right now.

I sent him an e-mail explaining that machine is not a 'vintage' anything! I also directed him on what a 'vintage' Singer Featherweight actually looks like and how to look it up!

Nancy, did you see he updated his listing and thanked you for the info!! :-)

    O.K......drooling here!!!
I'm sure once you get her cleaned up, on the inside, plus a nice oiling she will quiet down. I love the color.

The machine sounds very loud, but I just downloaded the manual and will oil it tomorrow. I'm also ordering up the special needles it takes as the needle in the machine is so old I can't read the numbers on it. The machine came with like 28 discs and is in good condition. I few chips of paint, but I'm so excited with my find!!! I love it. I just hope I can get it to quiet down a bit.

That looks like aluminum rot, which is bad news. Now for someone who wants to repaint, it's not a bad deal.
I couldn't see a bobbin case - so that would be an extra expense if it's missing.
The picture showing where the bobbin case should be is so dark that its hard to see much of anything.
If you need a bobbin case, they have one listed now on eBay too, 2 days to go, currently at $18.50:

Nope it has a bobbin case -
answer from seller to question 'does it have the bobbin case?":
    yes it does.
    thanks,joe

Unfortunately, what's the purpose of repainting a white one - well unless it goes really cheap! (And then making a cool color!) I was looking for one in better condition. (38 mins to go - $76)
It went for $115. Anyone here get it?
