To be honest? I don't know what it would translate to in Schmetz....or if they have one. I doubt it.
Boye needles often come up on ebay, I'm looking for some myself for these Damascus machines of mine!

When it comes to Boye needles, and you're looking for the ones in the wooden tubes, the number that follows "Boye", as in Boye "14", Boye "22" is the style of needle and not the size.

I have one small question for the group....how do you break the obsession????? I can't seem to stop acquiring machines. The latest in transit is a 201. Now looking at another 66....Geesh. I'm running out of floor space.

Hope everyone has a spectualar day.

Kat there is no help with this disease the only way to keep it sorta under control is keep buying machines. :D When you start running out of room then you start figuring out what furniture you do not need and go from there.

I have a chart hiding somewhere in this laptop that has the conversion of needles. I have to go dig it up and see what I can find.

Crossstitcher, I swear its almost the same machine, although mine says Magestic, and has a different color base. I had a hard time figuring out how to thread it, and no book!!!!!!!! Sews really nice though, and I sure love the color!

I just had to open it once it was on my cart. Inside, I found a Montgomery Ward 185, that also is almost like new, except for the bobbin winder tire which was cracked and oval in shape. It had about 30 needles, 7 bobbins, and the manual (good thing to, it was a sucker to thread).

After finally getting it threaded, it sewed a pretty good stitch, but I found it hard to get used to being threaded on the left end. The thread appears to be a little jerky on the uptake. I haven't searched for info yet. It was made in Japan and I am thinking maybe the 50's because of the case colors and materials. No photos at this time, camera committed suicide.
  I shouldn't be laughing about your camera... I am sorry! Wow, can't wait to see you photos. How much did they charge you for your find? Congratulations.

A whooping $9.50. Will have new camera probably Tuesday.

Val is getting ready right now and as soon as the shower becomes available I will hop in and we will be leaving around 3 pm. I have our inner Squirrel set up to take us to the Casinos and meet them there.

In case your wondering what the inner Squirrel is, it is our Garmin. Remember the Garmin commercial last Christmas they had a Squirrel playing a Mandolin?

Since my wife got a Garmin from her sister for Christmas we have referred to it as our inner Squirrel.....
