    Does the machine have a spoke handwheel or solid? If it's spoke, then yes, you can turn it into a handcrank. If it's solid, you still can, but you'll have to put a spoke wheel on it first. Either way you have to do it, if it was me, I'd have that motor off in a heartbeat! :lol:
    It has a spoked handwheel! Looked it over really really good....the motor wiring had actually melted and left a big pile of melted goo on the machine that looked like a bracket broken!! Anyway, it's off and out!! Now for a good cleaning! Then...who do I get a handcrank from?? With directions to install it?? I am happy dancin' right now!!!
    WooHoo!!! Billy has come to the rescue...we are putting a handcrank on this baby!! Now..to be sure it's gonna work here is a pic of the "working end" of the machine.

    Monica, I took my hubby with me yesterday and he was in awe of her collection and stuff! Cathy is so organized it amazes me. For all the parts, machines, stuff in her garage to be put away so neat is just amazing, especially when I look at the mess in hubby's garage! You ask Cathy for a part and she knows exactly where to look in all her boxes, lockers, shelves! Annamaria (Grayhare) was there too getting a machine looked at by Cathy! What a resource we have and she is only about 40 minutes from me!

    Just wanted to say hi and happy to hear you are feeling better! I read here about your health issues, haven't interacted with you much here yet but I have read MANY of your posts. So glad to hear you are back at it and thank you for sharing so much information with us and creating a warm and friendly place for people (especially us newbies) to turn to.

    Thank you to all of the other amazing people on here too who have shared, I am amazed at your willingness to help and the wealth of information available on this thread alone!!!

    Even tho I really like the 319W I am still learning and I don't know about the stack but it is a good question. This is the first multi talented machine I have treadled and there is so much to learn about it. Maybe Billy can answer this question for us.

    Those stack disks look just like the others. There are screws holding the thing together but I would be chicken to pull it apart with out a schematic.

    I did find a service manual for the 319 http://parts.singerco.com/IPsvcManuals/306W25.pdf I haven't printed it out yet - pictures are pretty grainy.

    oh goody - I'm the first to post here in the new QB!

    I think that I found a straight leg Singer treadle cabinet for jljack so that we can swap back the cabinet that she has to my Singer VS2!! I go look at it at 7 this evening & will let you know how it goes!
