Ok, I am still looking at this cabinet for my Mom's Pfaff 130. The people who are advertizing the cabinet e-mailed me they'd take $40 for the cabinet, but they say the opening for the machine is 11X17? The Pfaff 130 measures only 7X15. Why is the opening so large - unless this is not a Pfaff cabinet? I sure like the fact that this cabinet is so compact and the chair is hidden inside! The drawers are a bonus too!

My neighbor just gave me this machine. It's a White 77. It belonged to his aunt and he's had it in his house taking up space for a loooong time and wanted it to have a good home. It's in a neat desk with lots of unusual compartments, with all original attachments and manual. The cert. with it says it was sold in 1951. It's in excellent condition from what I can see in my fairly dark garage. When it warms up I'll play with it. The manual says it takes White Rotary needles. Are these special needles? Anyone have this machine?

Today I am glad that I passed on getting the Brother machine earlier this week. This one re-listed today at a lowered price & I'm going to look at it tonight. A much nicer machine & cabinet. Oh and the guy with the other one relisted too. Dropped price from $80 to $60. Still too much.

A "new" machine followed me home today; cost me $10. She is a 1910 Singer #115. My first project machine, the only thing that moves right now is the handwheel(nothing else moves) and the stitch length lever. Most everything is rusted. It came with an added bonus! A mud dauber nest in the pillar(#2 pic). The decals are beautiful. I hope I can get her moving again.

Will try posting this another way in hopes someone can help me. This is my first treadle machine & I know not what I'm doing. Have been trying to find one like it on the internet but have had no luck. All I can get is mostly singer machines. I mostly would like to know where and what kind of needles and bobbins to try to find for it. The only needle & bobbin I have is what came with it. Found a bag of parts yesterday with a shuttle and some bobbins and other stuff in it (price was right) but they are to short. Can someone take me under their wing and help me out please?

Not sure exactly what the difference is between the class A, C, D, etc., but MOST old New Home VS machines (Not the chain stitch or rotary) take a 20x1 needle, fairly easy to find and inexpensive.
Thanks for all your comments and info. I did get a hold of Sew-Classic.com.Was very nice and got right back to me with some info but does not have records for a "New Home D" so could not help me with the needles. How do I go about finding needles for this machine?
It is just killing me looking at that machine sitting over there and I've got to many other things to get done for the Holidays before I can clean and then play with it. So I would like to have everything here and ready to go when the time comes!! Thanks Again!!

Weekend of lost causes
I was given a Singer 127 this weekend. Fella is making a table out of the irons. Grrrr !!! The only part of the wood that was any good was one side drawer and one center one. He was thrilled that I would take the machine so it wouldn't be scrapped. (I told him to keep me in mind in the future). She is a Sphinx decal Made in 1926, but in awful shape. Locked up tighter that a drum !! I found a rusted box of attachments in the drawer I got, plus two shuttles and 3 bobbins.
Some kind of bug like a dirt dauber had built nests inside the face of the machine about 1" deep. I cleaned the face out all last night. I bought PB Blaster today and it really does work to loosten rusted parts. I was able to completely disassemble the inside of the face and get all the mud out. The wheel came off easily, but none of the innerworkings are moving yet.
Free though, so I'm up for another crazy challenge.
