I have one, it's a super machine. It is far stronger than my others. The 306 and 319 take a different needle than other Singers, they are still available online.

I found one of these at the Goodwill for $9.99. It just needs a new belt. The belt is sticky and stuff is coming off in chunks. It uses cams and you can find them on Ebay very reasonable. I bought a set for mine a few weeks ago. From what I have read, they are a workhorse. They can sew through leather and denim with ease.

I know they use special needle. Someone told me that you Allbrands.com sells them. They aren't cheap.

Shhhh.... Just wanted to let anyone interested in this White FR. I really, really love this machine. Unfortunately it's 5 1/2 hours away and I don't own a truck (I am sure it won't fit in my Honda). So if anyone lives close to Beaver, WV it might be worth your time to go to this auction on July 9th.

I am including pictures from Treadle On website which states that this one of the most sought after cabinets.

The only thing I request is if anyone lets this machine follow them home :) Please post pictures and tell us about your adventure at the auction.

BTW, No, I am not trying to be an enabler for those who resue treadle machines. Just "wished I lived closer" treadle stocker. LOL

It is here...my sister in law brought my beloved mother in law's Bernina tonight. It is in my "new" quilting room. The room is coming closer to organization. I'm so tired, but so excited, I just had to tell you folks...if anyone is listening out there!

Oh, Billy, I'm quite sure your wife would be perfectly fine with you bringing more treadles home with you!!! She would get to enjoy looking at them !!! And you'd be doing a great service to the universe to rescue more!!!

YES, RESCUE THEM! Not sure of this quote, but was it Churchill (sp?) who said, "If not me, who? If not now, when?" There you go...all the permission you need! ; - D
