Well, I just got in the door. When I got there we went and got something for Joy to eat. About the time we picked up the food she got the call that said to go to recovery. So we went in - he was already eating a popcycle. After a fashion we got up to his room and got him settled, ate and then kept feeding Wilbur. The kid was STARVED. This is the first he's eaten all week without throwing up or just refusing to eat. He played with a couple frogs they gave him - he figured out if he threw it against the bed it would bounce kind of cool. Of course I held Walter quite a bit. When I left Wilbur was eating more supper. I hope she manages ok over night. I'll get up and go back in the morning to take them home. He knows he feels some what better but he sure hates the IV and the medication.

That's wonderful Miriam! Glad to hear he's feeling better already. Praying here for his speedy recovery and that the family can soon return to "normal"....if they can figure out what normal is at Christmas time, with a new baby, and a recovering 2 year old!

    Texas Jan,

That is a gorgeous machine. Have you figured out what she is yet? I've not seen such work wrapped around the machine before. Are those the hand painted flowers you were talking about? You sure have a great find on your hands with all the goodies that came with it!

The case is wonderful, but needs finish restoring. I have the original velvet lined box full of attachments. I got her from the original owners great grand daughter for the princely sum of $50.00 on CL. Her thimbles, screwdrivers and a wooden case of needles were in the drawers, plus a bunch of antique buttons (and various junk that we all acummulate around our machines). That was Merry Christmas to me !!

Looks like she is a New Home Light Running, with a different model bobbin winder from a New Home VS Machine. The flowers seem to have been hand painted, since they are raised , but are either under layers of grease, or they have been painted over with something brown. Will have to investigate more after Christmas.

Yes she is a New Home, but I'm not sure who made her FOR New Home. Kinda looks like a National, but haven't decided yet.

Good news, Happy to hear the litlle man has rebounded. When my girl had ear tubes put in at that age, after 16 months of no sleep for me and a lot of pain for her the change was unbelieveable! DD started sleeping a solid 8 to 10 a night...and I got up every hour to check to see if she was breathing! LOL Good luck to Wilber, God bless all, and Merry Christmas.

Miriam, when my kids had their tonsils and adnoids out at 18 months and 2 1/2 - both at the same time - it was harder on me and their Dad then on them! They were like Wilbur, eating popsicles, ice cream, soup! I was the one who was stressed out, they bounced back like nothing happened and for the first time since they were both born, they both were well. Up until they had those things removed they went from one bought of tonsilites to a bad cold - always sick. My Dr. assured me that they'd get well once those things were removed and they did! So happy to hear Wilbur is going to bounce right back too!

Found time to walk the dog. And the best part of the day was that my daughter came home from college!!

Yes, its official! Cathy is having a mini TOGA next Tuesday. I will bring my Standard for those to inspect and give it a try.

Are you going to be there? Anyone else? Candace, Grayhare, Kathie...I think I'm missing someone else.
Yep, I'm going to be there. Cathy thinks she has the hinges/screws for the Pfaff cabinet! I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed! I don't know if I should bring a machine or not and which machine? Are you going to do the block exchange? I don't have time - too short of notice for me to make blocks this time of year - it is too crazy until after New Years at my house!

To you all who had your tonsils out as adults - I feel for you. My DH had his tonsils out when he was in his 20's and it was horrible! The exact opposite of what my kids went through when they were really really little!
