I'll also post this in the general area but I think it came out pretty nice. I refinished the cabinet a while ago and it didn't come with a stool. I got a stool that is the original match to the cabinet, but it was a blonde color and the top was pretty nasty. I refinished the stool and covered it with a scrap quilt piece(pieced and quilted on my 301). It's comfy and looks much better than it did originally!

Sar73, did you post the serial number on your machine, so we can help you find a manual?

It looks like the TOGA was fun! (I wish there was one in my area. I can't see traveling from the midwest to the coast when the cost of gas is rising so fast, and my DH doesn't see the value in making the trip.) Someday, I'd like to get to one, also. Thanks for sharing the happenings of the event!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Quilt Mom!!! I typed and cancelled and typed and cancelled and bit my tongue til it's raw to keep from being "un-nice" about why Billy isn't here anymore. Just can't leave the poor man alone!! I know if I were him, I'd not be on either of these forums anymore. Sad to see him gone, but sure do understand his choice.

That turned out really nice! Friday I picked up a little Singer bench that almost matches the cabinet my 15-91 is in. It needed a leg tightened, and could use a little finish help. The seat, however, is that ugly brown plastic/fake leather stuff that is worn through where someone else's behind sat on it for years! I was just going to raid my stash for some upholstery fabric, but your idea looks a lot more fun.

I have to do a bench soon too. It is N.A.S.T.Y. I don't think anybody's behind was on it as much as it set somewhere and got mold, mildew and what ever on it and maybe ripped up a bit. The table and bench are blonde. I guess I haven't had a bunch of motivation.

Thinking out loud....should I ignore your post that you so wish others to take note and contemplate or should I post my question. I'll post.

    So, you post this instead????

    So, why I ask?
Justify your post here, sometime I can be a bit naive. Never met the man, only know him from his posting here on Quilting Board. Why should he be afraid to post on this board?

    Candace,

That is beautiful. What did you use to attach the cover to the underside of the stool?

Now, I need to get me a Singer stool for my treadles.

    My questions would be these:

How well do you KNOW Billy? Live next door? Been friends with he and Val for years and years? Or is it that you only know him from these forums, and don't really know him at all, other than what's he's told you and what you've seen him type to other people that he wants to have trust him?

How well do you know the ladies who are complaining that he has their machines, has had them in at least one case for YEARS (2)...has one woman's grandmother's machine....took one woman's money for selling her a machine almost a year ago that he still hasn't delivered on...and if you want to talk about someone who is ill...you should talk to her. These people trusted Billy with items that were precious to them, and he has broken that trust. He has lied repeatedly to them telling them that their machines are in the mail, and yet somehow those machines never reach their destinations.

There are two sides to every story, two shoes to every pair. You might want to try BOTH on before you decide one fits better than the other.
