    Found a beautiful blue Kingston today with the scroll work on it. Are they a good investment? Love my FWs and treadles.

    The Kingston sounds like a Japanese made machine from the 50s or 60s, should be a lovely machine to use. They are very well made. I'm making a double friendship star with either a 3" friendship star or a 9 patch in the center square. I've used my FWs and my Singer 201k treadle to make this one. It will be a Quilt of Valor, I used red,white and blue.

    Glenn, your 27 turned out really nice. Hope to get some of ours cleaned when the weather is sure to stay warm.

    Joe I painted on the evaporust with a small brush and just kept it wet for about 20 minutes so did no harm to the paint at all. Just wipe off any that gets on the paint and you should have no problem

    I've been playing catchup lately and enjoying all the info on FMQ and different feet. I just wanted to take a minute and thank vintagemotif for posting this video--I've finally inspired my brother-in-law to try FMQ/embroidery. His stuff looks a lot more interesting and abstract than my boring straight line quilting! My sister sent me a few pictures of what he did until he "broke" her machine. Hehe, apparently he ran out of bobbin thread.

    Bennett, Not all straight line quilting is boring! Yes, sometimes we tend to think so when one has done only that.
    I'm sure your quilts are very pretty with those straight lines.

    Please post photos of your BILs FMQ. I would love to see!!

    I do like my straight lines, but I'm trying to learn to do more--to have all the crayons in the box work for me!

    Not sure of the picture quality, but I'll try to post a pic. It's not quilting, not on a fabric sandwich, more FM embroidery. He normally draws abstract stuff--definitely not the usual "quilty" motifs. Have to admit I'm a little jealous. After sitting down for probably an hour or two, he can do straight lines, curved lines, go back and forth, and have his stitches look pretty darn good (at least IMHO).
