Randa, how nice to see you on the board again. I wondered where you were. Can't wait to see what you do with the family sewing machine you just got. How fun!

I just went to the Davis group to see if I could date this machine but no luck.
It says to down load any thing you want now, as they are closing the site as of July 4th.
    Hi Phyllis,

    Your Davis dates to 1918.

I believe only "Beta" and "Group Chat" is closing on July 4th in all Yahoo groups. I've never used any of these features so I'm not certain what they are.

    Default New to the club

I have just got a cabinet for my Singer 15-91 this week so I am excited to finally get to use it. I love how powerful it is. I thought that the 30's machines didn't have reverse, but mine does. I really lucked out on Ebay because I got it for a low price and it had been very recently rewired even though it didn't say so in the ad. So far I have only used it to do an emergency repair on the waistband of a pair of pants (went through at least 8 layers of fabric like butter) and sewed the binding on the quilt in the background of the picture below, but I already love it.

Okay I thought I had figured out how to post photos, but clearly not. Will try again. Now it's sideways dagnabbit. I guess I'm feeling kind of crooked today myself so it's appropriate.

YAY!!! "Katherine" is coming to live with me in a couple of weeks!! I called the lady this morning...she told me that this was her grandmother's machine, that she bought new back in the 50's. Said grandma was so proud of it, and so proud to have a "fancy" machine! William's aunt is going to pick it up for me and bring it to me when we all meet up at the coast for a family reunion on the 17th. She's going to need some cleaning...but which of my old girls doesn't? ~happy dance~

Congrats, Charlee. How are you going to sneak away from the family reunion to play with it:>

Welcome to the 301 club, Charlee. You're going to love how well she does whatever you ask of her. Are we 301ers?
