Charlee, you have a good heart. Go with your gut, it's usually right.

She's a young woman, just graduated from college that's accepted a temporary position locally for the summer. I'm going to LOAN her my 328K, with a fully refundable deposit when I get the machine back.

I'm a bit nervous about it....I like this machine....a LOT! I also understand tho, what it's like to want to be able to sew and have nothing to use.
That is very nice of you to help her. Also make sure she knows how the machine works and how to replace needles, etc.

JoAnn's or other fabric stores should have some type of service for those that only wish to use a machine on loan...but they don't.

    Thanks Gang!

Linda already sews, so knows the basics. I'll show her the machine...and the reason I selected this one is that it's sturdy, and it has the manual. We'll meet up with her tomorrow and deliver the machine...

She's Native American, and a recent college grad. She wants the machine to sew a new "Jingle dress"...she's going to send me a photo of herself in the last one she made, I'll share if it's ok with her.

She is going to put some batting or something under it next time she brings it - there is so much plastic on that machine that it rattles! I wanted one too, until I saw it in person! No way! It is way too big for what it does, and way too noisey, way toooooooooo much plastic for me! But if you want one, I hope you get one - they are getting pretty cheap!

Metal frame. Big deal, even the WalMart Brothers have a metal frame. Otherwise, they'd all just collapse into a puddle of goo. :>
