Vintage Sewing Machine Shop.....Come on in and sit a spell

Not sure if this counts as vintage. But it is a pretty color and can you say LOOOOOOONG arm?

I guess most people think that you want to move the machine and not the quilt when the talk about long arms. I don't know since I'm still quilting by hand.

Anna and Lisa- Have been looking for a new cabinet, better
than this one, but all I have found are not for sale, or in use.
Our CL isn't any help. Haven't even seen any, but newer cheap
machines, on their list. With that said will probably find one in
good condition now. Hope so!

Marilyn,
What part of OK do you live, maybe we could help you find a replacement?
Would this one be around your area? I think you might be able to do a "Billy Barter" and see if they will take less.

Yep, this one is just up the street from me. I think it is a great example of the earlier machines. But, I am not getting another treadle just now. A portable, hand crank, electric, maybe . . .
Anyone need me to go check this one out for them?
Aardie.

This is my very first time using the message board, so be gentle with me. Do hope my picture comes thru. I found this lovely old Frister & Rossman hand crank....so excited..until I found that the needle was broken in two and I have no idea how to determine what needle it takes and where to look for replacements.
The serial # on the machine is 3735751. Any information on this machine would be greatly appreciated.

Penny, I can't help you with your question.
But welcome and WOW, you did great. That is a beautiful machine. I am sure one of the experts here will know where to get that information.
Love your Scotty too.

Working on getting a Singer 301 in a cabinet. Bought it over the phone already. Looks promising and might come this weekend. I hope this will be a good machine for doing the actual quilting. Have never seen one in person though and buying just off recommendations and picture.
Working on patience as the belt for the treadle and some other parts are delayed as the sales person is waiting on items to come in. Maybe get a paper piecing project going for the 15-91. Hubby finnished cleaning that one up and it is in working order.
