    Good to hear. Whatever machine you buy, make sure the bobbin case is there. Getting a replacement is NOT cheap. Both the FW and 301 use the same bobbin case and it will cost you about $50 for a vintage replacement. A bit less for a repro.

    does a 513 stylest singer have metal gears or plastic? thanks for any help

    The 513's will have plastic gears. We have a 518 and a 538 and they are plastic geared.

    Any one familiar with a Jones Family CS and what needles are required and where to get them. I have a nice one with the original HC on it.

    Dang it Skip! You keep getting MY machines!!

    Depending on it's age, the older machines take a round shank needle, 128x1, 16x1, 16x231, or serger needles BDx1 (pasted from Needlebar)

    Thanks Charlee, Where do I get 128x1, Yes the needle in it is a round shank. I will post pics of my new machines in a few days.
