Fabulous. I have a couple of 27's and possibly a 28 with some bobbins. You are a great resource and thanks for the help.
Chris, who wants to play but needs to work

Yep, it can..trying to talk the spousal unit into patching instead of replacing the whole sheet of veneer. I don't think I'm going to get around replacing that wood top tho...and it will probably be easier than patching together something just on that corner.

Charlee, if you just leave that part where the dog chewed it you can make up stories about it. Maybe we can all pitch in and help you make up some big whopper about it. Hm lets see.... The dog was hungry. nah. A bear came in the house and was hungry. nah. I'm sure you can come up with something. You could also cover that corner with duct tape... nah

I actually thought about using a filler on it and then painting the cabinet a cream color, only refinishing the front door panel and the two side panels wood...

It's about 2 feet taller than my dog, I don't think anyone would buy that he chewed it up! The bear story sounds promising!!!

Miriam, the duct tape is a guy thing! How about trying to match the color of the stain on the top and stain it. That way it wouldn't stand out so much. You could still make up a whopper of a story about the corner.

Well, Charlee just paint a sign for it - the sign should say 'beware of the big vicious dog'.
You can get duct tape in all kinds of colors....
