I will post more info and pictures tonight about Fred, the mystery machine (as in Scooby Doo). DD got several good pictures but I will get dimensions too. Glad I have the experts stumped here and thanks for the Karlsruhe, Germany, information. If that series started in 1954, then it probably is and 54 or 55 model because the serial # is PA 070279. Germany would have still been rebuilding after WWII. The Singer name is on the backside of the arm.

I'll look after dinner. Good thought there & certainly not one I'd had before.

Both DH and looked. There is nothing stamped Singer or Simanco anywhere on the machine but I did find 2 parts with numbers. They are the arms for the thread take up lever. The lower one is numbered 7933 HJs and the upper one is numbered 7914. The bed width is approximately 7 7/8th inches and the length is approximately 14.5 inches. He has a 7 inch harp with 5.5 inches approximately between the 2 thread posts. I'll put up some pictures now. One of my 2 inspectors/helpers, Lily, is visible in the last picture. 5th picture is the right side of the beast's belly and picture 6 is the left side of the beast's belly.

Don't know but hoping she turns up soon. I expect she may know something about this machine. FYI: The machine looks green colored, very dark, when using a strong LED flashlight. None of my other black Singers have the same tint to them.

That bobbin shuttle holder thingy is different. I don't think I've seen one like that. I'm thinking do the feed dogs drop? It looks odd, too. I want to reach through the computer screen and put my hands on that machine........
