Does anyone know what the icon next to the paperclip on the thread for the quilts made with vintage machines is?
I thought at first it was a lock, but Sharon has posted photos of her cute quilt to future grandchild, and I have posted numerous times trying to get a new page to appear for that thread. That thread is still loading very very slowly while all of the other threads load quickly.

CD are you coming to the NETX TOGA in April? If so do you have any of the Singer 27/127 that aren't totally locked up and missing parts?

I have been looking at my local Craig's list for Singer 27/127 heads. I have noticed that most of them are missing the front slide plates, others the bobbin winder. I find this very strange indeed.
What started the search for this model of machine was last month a friend gave me a shuttle and 15 bobbins from her Singer.

Monica,
That's an interesting denim quilt, it has a modern art look to it. I would imagine its very heavy.

I’m pretty sure that I have what you’re looking for Sharon. I have at least a half dozen of each. I’ll send you a PM.

hi every body newbie here just checking this sight out so far I'm liking it everyone seems so friendly, not like other sights but I thought I'd share pictures of my 3 newest machines. I have take them all in and get them all nice and pretty. I have used the Premier 100 deluxe model 24 & love it, and the singer Model 201 The only one I havent tried yet is the Singer Sphinx Model 27 as in no manual came with it & no clue how to wind the bobbin lol singer 201thepremier100delux model24singer sphinx model27

Muv has a lot of info on the long bobbins - there is a sticky note with a few videos and she has a blog link.

Sharon, An interesting thing I have come to find out about the missing front slideplate has a pretty logical reason to it. Most of them were in a cabinet opposed to a case. When you use a machine like that you open and close that slideplate almost exclusively and it gets worn much more than the back one. Thus, it gets looser and looser as time goes on until it slides out very easily. When a machine is stored it folds into the cabinet with that slideplate facing down and sooner or later the front slideplate just slides or falls out due to gravity. Eventually they get lost.
