Found it, nearly at the bottom of the ISMACS page: it's a 66; 50,000 made August 1923.

Thanks for your help! Tomorrow I will try to post a better photo of it.

To me that's too much. They can be found for much less than that if you're patient. I might pay that much if it's been repainted and really made my heart go pitter patter but not for an original color.

I'm not sure how Tennessee is but here the asking price for Featherweights is usually much lower. With patience you can get one for around $250. In fact, here's one that doesn't look bad.

I've been seeing "decent" (good working condition but with some usage wear on decals/paint) black FW's going in the low $200's on eBay. I just got one about a month ago for $202, with a case in really good shape & original pedal, manual & service records. The decals are worn from use but she's a really solid machine & sews beautifully! The only thing she was missing was the tension screw in her bobbin case, which I think cost me about $2 to replace.

Feet & accessories to fit a FW are readily available - Singer low-shank accessories are everywhere.

For $600, it better come with a two spool embroidery attachment, or a penguin walking foot. Or several of the other "fashion aides" that are worth the $100 mark individually.

I saw a Godzilla FW on eBay recently and it was absolutely beautiful. I think it looks so classy and understated; I fell in love immediately. I would LOVE to have one, but not likely to find one anywhere near my budget. I didn't know they existed until I saw that one and now I keep finding references to them everywhere. They're teasing me.

Ouch, that is too high, or at least for me that would be too much. I agree with everyone else... it takes patience and the price should be $300 or less. Mine was $250 with all the attachments and case even though that was a few years ago. Mine actually cost me several hundred dollars more because when we got to their place (2 hours north of us) she had 6 hand cranks which I couldn't resist and her DH has some rare wood which my DH couldn't resist! I only bought 2 at $100 each but certainly wish I had purchased the other four!

I had my Aunt's sewing machine picked up. I was quoted a price of $358 and was shocked when the store called and said it is on its way and the price was $464, I was told that the first price was an estimate. The shipping was more and that they discounted it by $27. Nothing that I can do about it now. I do not think that I will use this business again. Kathie
