I got my treadle home and see that the rod that runs from the wheel to the foot pedal is broken. Are they hard to come by?

Here is a picture of my 1887 Wheeler and Wilson. This machine came from Portugal in 1970. The guy I got it from was cleaning up his Mother's stuff after she passed away and just wanted someone to take this machine and love it. His mother got the machine from a dear fried who had died, then in 1970 they brought it over to this country. The son had stored it in his closet for years. He remembers a bunch of women sitting around and sewing when he was a little boy in Portugal.

I love this machine. I have this Wheeler and Wilson and I have a Singer 9W, which is also basically a Wheeler and Wilson machine. These are my favorite treadles.

Nancy that is a beautiful WW9! I love the detail on the cabinet also. I have never seen one like that.

Nancy your machine and cabinet are beautiful. I like the dark wood. The decals look as if the machine has hardly been used.

Also, did you notice the size of the hand wheels?

    Nancy
    Yes, they are rather large.

I do not plan to get the machine operational, just going to use it as my clean up experimental machine. I plan to use the irons for either a e Singer or e Kenmore that I want to switch to treadle.
    Here are some pics...
I like the carving on the front drawer. I would love to see this cabinet when you have restored it.
