Does anyone have -- or know anything about -- the Standard Company's (or GE's)Sewhandy that was made c. 1920s? (NOT the Singer Sewhandy that's advertised as a toy)

First of all, how dependable are they?
    Are parts available?
And -- IF one can find one -- what's a ballpark price?

There is a whole chapter (#4) about the GE Sew Handy in the book "FEATHERWEIGHT 221 The Perfect Portable" by Nancy Johnson-Srebro. From what I can understand (I'm still new to vintage machines) the Featherweight inherited it's basic design from the Sew Handy but Singer made some improvements ...swinging bed extension, easier accessibility to the underneath if the machine for lubrication, reverse sewing, easier access to the bobbin area, etc. I'm sure Billy will be able to add lots more to this information.

I'm in the same cleaning mode, and I have been looking for the Kroil and Blue Magic TR3. Does anyone know where to find either of these? I've been to Auto Zone, Pep boys and others with no luck!
    Thanks,

I purchased Blue Magic TR3 from Amazon at $10.53 and have used it on a couple of my machines.

I've seen the 222 (free arm FW) go for as much as $2,000. The are rare and expensive! Actually, $950 isn't too bad.

Did you see this one? Purple hearts for $1795.00. I like purple, but I don't like the purple hearts, not on a sewing machine. I think the hearts would drive me nuts, but maybe some of you might like it? Not for me.

Yeah... that was where I first read about them. But I've never heard anyone talk about owning the machine, or talk about seeing one. That tells me they must be scarcer than FWs, just wonder if they're priced accordingly.

They are cute! I haven't seen any while looking at CLs. They must be hiding in attics or basements...or maybe Miz Johnny's house. :)
