On my mystery machine, we were able to make out where there had been a decal and it says Alden, was that made by National? Thanks

LOL I have 4 Paffs too, my hobbymatic 947 (no IDT on it) my machines, and now will be learning how to use my Signer 500. The woman at the shop where I got it, asked how long I have been sewing that I did not know about cams, well I have never in my 55+ years of sewing had a machine that had cams! She was a tad rude, and acted like I didn't know beans, LOL
my mother still has the Pfaff daddy got her in 1955

I too LOVE my Pfaffs. I have my Mom's 130 (I bet that is what your Mother has too! Mom bought that machine brand new in 1949, made payments on it. She used it almost everyday of her life! I have my first Pfaff, a 1222E -- love it, that is the machine I do all my binding on because of the walking foot! I have the Grand Quilter Hobby 1200, and I have the Pfaff 2144 Creative upgraded to a 2170 (a computer basically for embroidery). I also have a long arm and a few other machines, but I love my Pfaff's and I love my treadles! My DH says I may have to get rid of the long arm to make room for the treadles!

well now I figure sence I love my Pfaff'f and I really did love my own very first machine that I bought, back in 62, (singer tredle,) that if I combine the two and get a Pfaff tredle I will have a sure fire winner. I can use and use and use! Don't let HD talk you out of your long arm . but tell him he can talk you into trading one of your tredles in for a Pfaff tredle LOL

Leaha have you every seen a Pfaff treadle?
Billy do you have one? I wonder if they are as colorful as the Singer Treadles?
I would love to find one too as Pfaff has always been my favorite machine! I have to admit, though, that I am becoming VERY partial to my vintage Singers!

Go back to page 244 and there are links for the tuts there. They are great, we use them on every machine we get. Thanks, Billy.[/quote]
Thank you, I found the tutorial yesterday and I am going to print it out as DH and I are both hooked on the old treadles!

Yes, I think we need to be the "Vintage Sewing Machine Rescue."
