I have heard that you should use metal bobbins with metal bobbin cases and plastic with the plastic ones. Don't know if that is gospel or not.

I think any singer treadle with same dim as the red eye would work. My 319 fits the back lift hinges on the treadle. You will see an old man working the machine to LOL

I have a babylock embroidery machine, it seems to work better for me with a metal bobbin. Works smoother, and
better. I also use metal bobbin on my 221-1 singer.
What did you think?

The 221 is going to work better with the bobbins that were made for it which would be metal.
