Crossstitcher,
I'm sorry that your DH's family waited until the machine was in such poor condition to let him have it.

I was at a charity quilt sew-in with my guild today and the Featherweights were well represented. There were 8 of them, 6 were black,1 white and 1 tan(mine). I should have asked everyone to put them all on one table so they could be photographed.

Thanks Glenn for the info on refinishing a machine. I've told all of my friends that I'm looking for a 'boat anchor' machine so I can see what I can do with it. If I get one in that kind of condition, I can't do too much wrong with it, but still have one to practice on. My FWs and 99 are in too good of condition to mess with.

Hi Trish,
Here's a manual for the "Burdick" the predecessor of the Minnesota B. Similar but different in areas.

Jon, My husband said to tell you many thanks for the manual. Now if he can find a foot he will get it working I'm sure.

1890's Davis HAVF alert!! Erie PA Still has some of its decorative painting and in a repairable treadle. Too high priced, though!
