Well, I cleaned my little heavy baby that I posted on here the other day. I took the motor and light off and am waiting on the handcrank that I ordered so that I can try to sew with a hand crank. I also bought an extra one for my 1898 singer Sphinx that was born the year my Grandma was. I now need to find room to put my beauties so that I can look at them and play with them. only the higher ups know when I will be able to go back to work, since the shutdown.

It is a removable thread cutter on my new early style Wheeler Wilson #8.

It comes off when you change the presser foot, so I can see why they never survive.

I had a Genie then my Mom wanted a machine for their TX winter home and now it's back in WI. My Mom uses her 1963 Viking most of the time but pulls out the Genie if the Viking is fussy. Nice to see one here.

Here's the 301 I just got today. She sews and has all her original attachments, the manual and a zigzagger, all in great condition, considering she's 60 years old. She's kind of stinky. I believe she's probably spent at least several months in a humid area such as an attic or garage. The fact that a spool of thread on the spindle was covered with mildew was not a good sign. But I'm very pleased to rescue her from that before things got too far out of hand.

Well at least the boxes and manual don't look to have suffered too badly! I picked up one of these in a cabinet that took off alot of the finish where it sat in its cradle.

I bought a six drawer cabinet a few days ago, and it had a lovely 66 redeye living inside. Haven't touched anything yet, it needs a lot of work done on the veneer (which I didn't photograph):

Born 18th December 1912, she's a genuine antique. The Muv'ing begins tomorrow.

EDIT: Most exciting thing is the small selection of back-clamp attachments in the drawer: Never seen these before!

Here is a machine you don't see everyday. Its a circa 1980 Singer Starlet 496. I keep this machine for its good zigzag stitch. Plus its light and pretty cool the way it all folds up into itself. Its just like a Singer Genie, but it has a free arm feature.

This machine was made in France and came with a manual that was copyright 1980. The foot pedal and manual are stored in the slide out peace with the thread diagram on it. It weighs about 12 pounds I'm guessing and is mostly plastic but the free arm is metal.
