thanks, I will be starting a restore thread for all three.
I think I will get the "as arrived" part posted today, and then start the restore on Saturday
I will be up till all hours of the night tonight finishing a suit of armor for a customer who is fighting in it Saturday....

Ok, was up till 7:30 am working on the armor, but got it finished and fit to the customer. He spent the night on my couch being woken up every now and then for fittings.
Sorry no photos, The customer asked me not to post pics of the kit yet, it is a "new arrangement" for period medieval international combat for a member of the US National Combat Team.
However after a couple hours of sleep, i am faced with the decision of which machine to work on today...

My Bernina 640-2 Favorit, originally purchased in Melbourne, Australia - 1962 (starting at £130). It's in the original "Swedish Table"

Nice Bernina! I only have one Bernina, a 1260 from the early 1990s. When I first sewed on it, after sewing on a crappy 1985 Singer machine, it was like nothing I'd ever experienced before. I vowed at that time never ever to sew on a cheap crappy machine again!

Today at a resale shop, I saw a 1949 Singer 201 that is naked. It does have the bobbin, but no foot control and cord. Do they cost very much to replace? It needs a three hole plug. I don't know how much thwy will be asking for it. I like it because it is supposed to have a larger throat and also had the ability to drop the feed dogs. What else do I need to know to convince my hubby that it needs to go home with me?
They also had a 1952 Singer 128 with a shuttle and the matte brown finish. Since it is 3/4 size and I already have 2
99's I don't see a need for it. They had them in the back room and won't be priced until Thursday when someone who checks out their sewing machines will be there to price. Thanks.
