Default Walking foot for a 301?

Is there a walking foot for the 301? Neither of the slant walking feet I have will fit. One is a Singer and the other is generic. (I did remove the thread cutter, but it still wouldn't fit.)

bkay - there are a couple of threads about the walking foot over on VSS from about 5 years ago. According to Cari - "Singer never made a walking foot for the 301. This comes up from time to time on several groups. Some have been able to get one to work, others haven't. Jenny at Sew Classic sells one that she modifies herself for the 301 but I haven't bought one to try it." (italics mine) Lori has one that works "It is good, but not great, because starting out on the piecing is difficult, chain piecing is better."

It looks like the slant shank walking feet were made for the zigzag machines and the toes don't line up quite right for the 301.

Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do.

Thanks, I think that's what Janey was mentioning. Except she said Sew Classic, which is now closed. I miss it.

I have one for my 301a that I got from Sew-Classic when they were open. I think it's the one that Joe posted the link for. I hate admit it, but I've never used it. I got my Juki 2200 QVP Mini right after I got the walking foot for the 301 and use the Juki for my quilting. Some day I guess need to at least try the walking foot on the 301

Did you ever find a walking foot for a 301? Mine has a number 5 on the side. I got one from the link above, tried both and they work just the same. I have an extra one....

Did you get it to mount? That was my problem. I removed the thread cutter, but neither of mine would mount. They just didn't fit.

Yes, they both fit the same. The thread cutter is pretty close when the pressure foot is raised, but it misses. I used both of them, and they work the same. Does you needle bar look the same as mine?
