I have enjoyed reading this thread. Joe, if anybody can do this, it is you! There is some serious mechanical talent on this board! =))

    Lara,

Yes there is. But in this case I need both mechanical ( which I have ) and electronic ( which I don't have ).
Between the basement leaking like a sieve due to the rain and other machines I've set it back for a while.

hehe I sent all of my electronic machines into another dimension. I gave them and all of their parts and accessories to the local Singer dealer before I moved in 2005. I moved only my vintage and antique machines. The only "electronic" machine I own now is a Brother XL2600I that I won as an award.

It's not forming some of the patterns right and it only seems to want to make gibberish for the monograms.
I don't know if it's a programming error or mechanical problem.
or too much bath salts. LOL That machine, not you, I mean. (ducking and running...)

    MadCow333,

My getting this machine was all Miriams fault . She told me I needed to start working on more modern machines. I'm wondering if I've bit off more than I can swallow.

Isn't those bath salts the weird stuff that makes computerized machines run around naked and try to eat old iron machines?

Joe give everything a sporting chance. Someone bought two machines from me this week and left me two plastic wonders. Too bad you were a day early - you could have had a challenge. One might be missing a spring on the reverse - it doesn't activate and the other has a glitch - I can feel it - probably a broken gear. Those plastic wonders are so confusing. I think you have to have the stars and moon all line up a certain way then hold your mouth just so as you read the manual and pray that it works. They aren't even heavy enough to be door stops. The lady was pretty excited to see she could clean the vintage ones herself. Yeah I showed her how. I do when people want to take the time. She had real sweet kids along, too. Joe, did you make it work again?

    Miriam,

Yes, it's up and running. SS and basic ZZ are doing fine. We can do ducky patterns, but the tulips and some of the other patterns tilt to the side real bad. The monogram letters don't form at all. It just scribbles.

I'm not giving up on it, I just have several other machines to work with. I want to get them done so I can flip 'em.

Wow scribbling - people might pay bigger money for one that scribbles - nobody else has one of those.
