I guess we need to be aware. If you are new to vintage sewing machine, antiques, any game really, it's not always easy to know. I know some are willing to pay for the penguin foot, Swiss zigzagger and the two thread embroidery attachment . The 222K is usually expensive too. The singer darning foot is getting expensive, the one that came with the 201s. Compared to a new phone it's not that bad though.

My sister and I are often mystified by what combination drives up prices on ShopGoodwill. Being in Texas seems to make bidding twice as high. Central Midwest (like Illinois or Indiana) sees higher prices. I noticed an average FW with accessories go for 1300 a month or 2 ago, but could just make out a penguin walking foot with box and instructions that must have driven the price up. Several of the items in the lot being discussed are listed on the Singer Featherweight Shop as scarce or collectible and currently out of stock:
