I use oil to remove sticky residue - baby oil, cooking oil whatever oil I can grab and it always works 100% of the time.

You all are truly amazing. The oil worked great. It was harder to get the old sticky residue off than to remove the tape and that sticky stuff but it's cleaned off now..... and no damage to the black finish or decals. Thank you everyone.

Try the goo-be-gone on the bottom in an inconspicuous spot. Just put a little on a Q-tip and see how that works . The wipe quickly with a damp rag.

No, don't use GooGone on shellac finishes. Use sewing machine oil! Glad to see you took the advice on using sewing machine oil.

Oil will do the trick; just be patient, let it seep under there and do its thing.

Congrats on a very nice machine!
Ditto - be very careful of the decals and finish

Peanut Butter! Used it on lots of my new appliances when I built my new home. Worked. Put a "healthy" layer on and leave alone. I left overnight and wiped with clean cloth in morning. If not all came off I did it again. Besides I always have peanut butter around and it smells good.

Someone showed me that using smooth peanut butter will take off glue residue. The oil in breaks down the glue, may take a few times but will not hurt the finish.

I'd still be careful and test first. Anything that can "breakdown glue" may breakdown decals and clear coating as well

Well, here she is with the tape removed. She's so much happier now, cleaned up and oiled.

I use lighter fluid and acetone to remove sticky stuff and they are great, but check to be sure on your machine. Lighter fluid took stuck stuff off a folding table wonderfully.
