    For the same money, or less, you should be able get either a real Singer machine, or one of the many excellent 15 clones, any of which would likely be better than that one, which I believe is made in China.

    I have to say I agree. It does look like the retro edition made during the 70's (IIRC) in china. It actually costs more than an original would most of the time. and from what I have seen a 60 year old Iron singer will out last and perform these "alloy" singers.

    note: it is a Singer..... just a made in china 70's Singer not so brilliant idea...
