Christine, the 27 & 28 have low bobbin winders, the 127 & 128 have high bobbin winders.

Leave it to Charlee to find the obvious! I simply love the folks on this board.

Now, I just need to find out why our PNW is below the Ozarks in your mind.

I like the weather and the cost of living better! Have you been to the Ozarks? It's GORGEOUS there...

The 27 and 127 are "full size" machines,
The 28 and 128 are the smaller 3/4 machines.
The 27 and 28 are earlier production and have the low mounted bobbin winder and no shuttle eject button. They are also a much shorter production life ......as the 128 was produced up into the 50's. Though oddly enough the last of the 128's (128-23 in godzilla finish) also did not have the shuttle eject button installed.

In short the 27 came out ...and then a small version the 28. After severwl years they were "improved and renamed the 127 and 128.

Remember that the very early machines did not have a motor mount boss cast into them and are hard to "electrify" and almost impossible to hand crank.

I'd pass on the 15 in the plastic case unless you really want the machine. It does look in good condition but I see them all the time, many in cabinets, for $45. I would go for the one with the handcrank in wooden case.

I've been to the Blue Ridge Mountains. In 1974 my family drove to S.C. to visit the family farm. It was beautiful but I kept looking for the mountains! "Our hill is bigger than these!!" Mt. Rainier had me spoiled.
