Default What Size Needle and How to Thread it

My sister recently found me a 1940 Singer hand crank machine. I believe the ID# is EC650153. It did not have an instruction manual with it nor did it come with a needle in the needle bar. Can anyone help me locate instructions on how to thread the machine and advise me of the size/type of needle this machine uses ? Any assistance will be appreciated.

    Thanks, Betty

    Hi Betty,

You got a good one, Singer 201. Takes a common household needle, 15x1. Here's a manual for a motorized model but much will still apply:
