    Default What type of spool pin for a Singer 201?

    I lost the spool pin to my Singer 201 and also don't have the manual. Could someone please tell me what type of a spool pin the machine takes? Is it the tap-in metal spool pin? I imagine Sew Classic would sell them?

    Thanks,
    Cricket

    Mine has a little plate that is AWOL that holds the pin. I wish I knew where to get one, too. Those seem to come up missing often. Unless someone is scrapping out their 201 it might be hard to get one. I will be interested to know what can be used for this machine, too. I have not tried to put anything in mine yet.

    If it has the plate I don't know for sure. If it doesn't have the plate it is a screw in spool peg, at least mine is.

    Sew Classic has the threaded ones { http://www.shop.sew-classic.com/Spoo...d-SCSPF2AY.htm }

    I'm 98% sure I used a tap in when I needed one and had no plate... but yes, there should be a plate that it goes on to cover those 2 holes beside the spool pin hole.

    I found an ebay auction with a picture that clearly shows the type plate is on top where the spool pin is, #5 picture.

    Question Singer 201-2 Spool plate

    Today is July 26, 2020. I am also in search of this part! I can't find a part number or even a photo of it. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much!!!

    If you are wanting the straight plate, I believe the part number is 45209. I think there were some others, too. There have been some discussions regarding the fact that there were some 201s that didn't have a plate. There is a blackside one that is pictured at http://wesewretro.com/2012/04/singer...ewing-machine/ Then there are a couple of videos that one doesn't have a plate and the other that does at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_h9wAGCIIrc and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nLpvw2M40A

    Central Michigan Sewing Supplies has 201 spool pin plates and two kinds of spool pins.
