[QUOTE=vmaniqui;6435248]The great thing about this machine is its size. Excellent for quilting and everyone's so obsessed with this machine (myself included). Singer made a handful of this machine ( about 2-3 million) and yet prices are so ridiculously high every where. I was lucky enough to get one for a good price and I want one more. But everywhere I go, CL or eBay they are prized 250-500. Your best bet in finding an affordable FW is thru estate sale.[
I get all of my 221's from shopgoodwill.com. Bidding can run from a nice low price up to more than I'm willing to pay. Nonetheless, I have never paid more than $125.00 for a 221. All of them need cleaning etc. but if you're looking for one that is bright & shiny and a showpiece --- you'll pay dearly for that --when you can do it yourself for mere pennies on the dollar.
