Why the Dawn and water rinse afterwards? Am curious because I never heard that when I used to polish my brass.

I just do not like leaving potential residue on a device that fabric will slide through, so I use Dawn dishwashing liquid (great grease cutter) to clean things up.

That is interesting. Thanks for explaining and I wouldn't have thought about a residue left to be transferred to the fabric.

funny, but I learned that when selling armor. If you do not clean it after making it, it will gross up their padding and clothes...
