OMG, don't give it a second thought. A 27 or 28 in a classic treadle. I'd risk a divorce for it. Nah, she'd acquiesce.

I've got a machine and cabinet exactly like this. I paid $75 about 15 years ago. I love the cabinet. I have meched the machine, which had not worked for 40 years, and it is running. I'm not completely happy with it's stitch, however. I would not give up the cabinet, but might put a different head in it, either a 66 or 201, or maybe a Necchi, just to use it more.

For the price, you can't beat it. Make sure it has the shuttle.

What does one do if a spouse threatens divorce because of a sewing machine or fabric collection, and you have culled all you feel you can? Look at the spouse, sigh deeply, give a kiss and hug, and say how much you will miss your spouse. ;-) Just kidding!

update: i got it yesterday and when i saw how nice the cabinet and the machine is, i didn't even think twice as what all of you said. and the best part is - it comes with a free white rotary. my wife found out and she asked me how come there's an additional sewing machine in the garage ???? (ha ha ha). who would think that i've got 6 sewing machines with cabinets here ? 2 whites, 2 27 treadle, 1 15-88, 1 16-188. my 201-2 cabinet is not even there yet. this will keep me so busy as i need to refinish all 6 cabinets. now i am taking over half of the garage.

thank you all for pushing me. i would not have push the button without your advise. it sure is worth risking a divorce
