White Rotary
I was given an old White Rotary(FR 2557222) by a friend on Tuesday after our quilt guild meeting. I was thinking it was a junky machine, but was pleasantly surprised when I opened the case. I need to get a treadle cabinet for her. She doesn't really work very well as an electric, the bobbin winder has nothing to ride on to turn. I haven't figured out how to thread it either. I found a manual, but the machine is a bit different from mine.

Ugh!!!! Just saw post of one for $5.99 with cabinet and looks great! and now yours given and gorgeous! I went to the Starvation Army and they had a white in the cabinet, not as nice as yours with few attachments. $300.95, 2 others ; one with cabinet for 30.95 absolutely nothing other than the cabinet. Cabinet older than the machine but machine had absolutely no attachments. Another Kenmore no bobbin case and dirty, ugly messy nasty, cracked! Ugh!!! $25.00. I called a gal who had a FW advertised at LQS $350.00 Ugh!!!! I just really envy all of you! BUT happy you are able to get such great deals. Guess I'll just buy new!

Sharon,
That's a nice machine. You could post it in my thread about the machines that turn opposite.
tessagain,
Don't give up. Good machines at reasonable prices are out there. They'll pop up when you least expect it.
As for treadle or cabinet machines, always take a close look at furniture in thrift stores. Some of the machine cabinets do not look like sewing machine cabinets.

Purplefiend I know I've seen pics of at least one electrified machine that had a longer belt wrapped around the bobbin winder pulley too. I'm unsure how well that setup actually works but it may be one option for you. Maybe a more experienced member will chime in.

Monica/vintagemotif,
I'd have to find a wood worker to make a top for me and do all the necessary cutting of the holes. I have a set of White irons in the shed, they go to a White VS cabinet that's in poor condition.
The decals are lovely on my machine, but the clear coat is all gone.

It's very pretty! I was given a White Rotary Treadle last year and it works great. I've considered replacing the machine itself because the decals aren't as pretty at all, but it was given to me by a family member.
