    Default Why-O-why do I want the ones I can't get?

    { http://www.shopgoodwill.com/auctions...-15306136.html }

    A Free #5 (?) in a parlor cabinet. I'd just have to do a road trip to Tennessee is all.

    That brings up another question. Why do I like the parlor cabinets? I never use the one I have. ( I'd have to unburry it.)

    I won't be trying for it, but if it were in Spfld .........

    I think I enjoy the hunt more than having the machine. I have several treadles I've never used, waiting for "someday". I mostly confine myself to hunting, not purchasing. Of course being broke helps my resolve!

    [h=2]Why-O-why do I want the ones I can't get?[/h]Because if you could get them, you wouldn't still be wanting them! (and then what would you (we) do?

    Sometimes Joe, the chase is all we really want & are disappointed when we reach the end. That's my story & I'm sticking to it !!

    I think I've reached this point, also. I'm enjoying looking but need to take time to give attention to the machines I have. Also, need to take time to sew with them.

    My sympathies. I know your pain when I see the words "local pickup only" or when the cost is astronomical. I am working hard on focusing on only a couple more machines to get & use, only greyhounds. BUT I can ease my machine lust by sharing pics of interesting machines with this board. It helps to share the eye candy.

    Joe I feel the same way!!! It's the thrill of the hunt!! I want more pink machines. Have one want more, no rationale reason for it.

    Yes, it seems like a true addiction. I've gone through the same phases with Studebakers, hand tools, my Taig lather and its attachments, tube radios and amplifiers, and the list goes on. It IS the hunt thats exciting, and probably relates back to our early history.
    To paraphrase the Buddha, "attachment(s) are the root of all suffering". I'm searching for more attachments because they take up less room ;^)
    We're all in the same boat!
