Hubster, AKA husband.

I have one also, so far no one has considered him as a trade. He is just way too high maintenance.

So there is one on eBay now, and it looks nice! Not that I should be pushing Ebay after my recent experience, but I think this seller has invested enough time and energy in the machine, and is asking $47 shpg, to care to package it right. No telling what their reserve price is...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Windsor-B-Vibrating-Shuttle-Antique-sewing-machine-functional-show-piece-1912-/301054754004?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item461842 fcd4

I got the one from Ebay stitching by hand rather easily, although the paint has a weird rough texture unlike crackled shellac in most spots. It stitches better than my New Home does, even with its new shuttle.
It's kind of growing on me, guess I'll see if the seller, who has offered a full refund (shpg 2x) to give me half the shpg to compensate for the damaged motor, and that way we both wind up with something. I like it's simplicity, tensioner, take up lever, stitch length lever and the dragon ( or griffin)
I'll watch ebay for a National motor to come up, I guess, and I see there is a bobbin winder on there now. This will be more expensive than is rational by the time it's all done

I'm looking for a National made VS machine - but I want to be able to treadle it, so if I get one with a motor, I'll let you know.

I've got a 3/4 size Standard made machine, so it would be neat to get a 3/4 size National made machine to go with it.

Thanks Cathy, as you can see, I also need a bobbin winder cam and screw. I checked the ad photos and it was missing from those also. Guess I was too impulsive, duh... I'd love to find a hand crank for it. It has to threaded holes but not centered on the pillar, maybe I could make an adapter plate and use a Singer, if just temporarily.

That's one of the best I've ever seen!!! Thanks for sharing it. I love, love, love the foot shaped foot pedal! Another item to add to my dream list!! The decal-ed base is dreamy. I hate to say it but it's "totes my goats". Wowzer!

She's cleaning up nicely! Hunting down motor part or handcrank and bobbin winder cam... If I was in Oklahoma I could just visit CD and buy the whole machine he has on his wonderful website!

side note, the old typewriter in background from the garage turns out to be a Royal "Quiet" which is different than Quiet Deluxe. Turns out Hemingway was fond of Quiet Deluxe but the Quiet is rarer. I messed it up a little when I used some SM oil in a place where I shouldn't but it's somewhat fixed and I can go back to filling out 3x5 cards with SM info. I will include them with any machines I part with in the future.
