Wonderful day
I just got home from Dad's house in CA and brought home my Mom's Featherweight. It was the only thing I wanted from her estate since she taught me to sew on it in the 1950s. It is going to the technician next week to be cleaned and detailed. So many memories.
My memories of this machine was, I think, what caused me to keep trying to replace it but no other Featherweight would ever be the "same".

I too got the FW only thing from mom's estate --leaned to sew on it at 8 yrs old --realize it is showing age but so am I . It was well used but truly guarded by mom. Centenial model --had it serviced in Fl over 12 yrs ago but used
it a few weeks ago. I now keep 2 FW's in Fl but left mom's in Ontario. Going to order a
walking foot to fit them.
Enjoy the feelings you have.

i think there is a special connection to your mom's machine - that she taught you to sew just adds to it. enjoy. i have my mom's Pfaff and it's going to my oldest daughter after she moves later this week. it's a tie to her grandma and means a lot to her.
