I totally agree, except I would just pay you to do it...lol I have a 1948 singer in a cabinet , not in bad condition but it has peeling wood, how did you replace that? if you wouldn't mind sharing it would be very much appreciated.
Again , awesome job-you should be proud!

Oh, it is sooooo gorgeous!! I have the iron stand from the one my Mam Maw had. My uncle got it when she passed & it sat in his dirt floor garage, so the cabinet just wasted away. But I have the stand to remember her by. I remember she made my yellow taffata prom dress for the prom, many moons ago.....

Look for my post titled "WORK IN PROGRESS". I tried to post as I went through the steps. However, I'm sure I didn't keep up with every step but maybe you can get an idea of how I did. One thing. I did not like the results with the iron down veneer.. Got I got sone really serious bubbles. I'll use a different on my next restoration effort..some that I have to apply the glue.

great job! I have one to do and it just doesn't ever seem to work out right that when I have some off time, it is rainy. Not doing in my house. I also have a cedar armoire that I bought for $50 that has bubbles on it and I want to strip the outside of it and bring it in the house to put some things in (like winter coats, etc.)
