Default How do you quilt French Braids?

When I try to search for quilting ideas, all that I find are "how to make a braid" tutorials. I saw feathers type stitching, but I'm not that talented, yet.

Mine were done with a edge to edge meander. Or if you turn the quilt it can be done with up and down rows.

I haven't made a French Braid, but found this tutorial online. It looks like a lot of work, but also looks good.

This might provide a bit of inspiration even though it isn't specifically for a French braid. It does have lots of horizontal bars much like the braid:
Start at the 9:43 mark or so for the quilting part

One of my very first quilts was a French Braid. Now worn out. I used a walking foot and zig zagged beside the seams vertically. It helped emphasize the pattern. My only regret was that I went about a 1/4" out from the seam. If I had gone 1/8 inch, I could have caught the seam allowances. If you decide to go this route, just be sure to not always go from top to bottom. Turn it around and go from bottom to top to prevent bowing.
